Let's get this party started!

The bead soup blog party has officially gotten underway! Lori Anderson has put together another bead soup blog party. You can take a look at http://www.prettythingsblog.com. She puts a ton of hard work into this, as there are over 300 of us doing it this time. We all sign up, she assigns partners, we send our partners a pendant, a pretty clasp and some coordinating beads. Once you get your package, you have about a week to make something fun with what you receive, adding beads and findings from your own personal stash. The idea is to get out of your own box and be stretched by using things you wouldn't normally choose. My partner is Pam Ferrari, who lives all the way out in California. She makes really beautiful beads with glass and a torch (boy would I love to take a trip to California and learn how :). You can take a peak at her blog, and see her gorgeous beads that she sells on etsy (going to have to buy a few special ones for myself, I think) http://ferrarioriginalsyahoocom.blogspot.com/. I can't wait to see what she sends me!!! Speaking of, I sent off her package yesterday. Want to see what goodies she is going to get?! Here is a sneak peek:

Sorry! Can't ruin the surprise! Hope you like your package, Pam!

  2. I got my goodie's I love my focal, did you make it. just putting that on a chain by it self would be stunning. I love the chains I have never seen chain like that. I think I am going to draw a few designs out and pick what I like best. I have to make a few beads to make it mine. Opal yellow with reduction powder in a coffee color. The wheels are turning. Mailed yours yesterday so you should get by tuesday I hope. I did the picture scramble but decided I want the color to be a surprise. Thanks for my goodies! Enjoy the week-end. Pam

  6. I was surfing the BSBP name and blog list and noticed your name. I am a WAC friend of Denise H. What a small world. I love the things she bought from you. She had me check out your fb page, all of your things are great. Six months ago I started making things with vintaj and really enjoying it. Silver too $$$. This is my first BSBP. I want to get my business going again and I thought participating would inspire me to get going. It forced me to start a blog. Now I need to get that going. I am excited to see your bead soup creation. Linda

  8. thanks, linda! this is my first bead soup party as well--and i also created this blog so that i could join the group. something i have wanted to do, but never got around to it. what a crazy small world. did denise tell you i used to teach classes at the wac?! vintaj is so versatile and easy to manipulate. i have also used trinity brass company for brass with a silver finish. they carry many of the same designs as vintaj's antique brass. i have been happy with trinity's quality as well--although they seem to be out of stock for long periods, and the filigree is a bit stiffer. can't wait to see what you get and make! this is so fun!!!
